Chuck Lachance on his way to victory
Chuck Lachance, driver for Last Chance Racing
of Augusta, Maine realized early on that AMSOIL
racing lubricants are superior products.
"Due to lack of funds, it looked as if
Last Chance Racing was going to sit the 1991 season out," said
Lachance. "Our car had not been touched all winter long. The
engine already had two full seasons of racing, and we knew we couldn't
afford to rebuild to race-ready status."
"After going to opening day at the track,
just to watch, my crew and I realized that sitting on the sidelines
wasn't the place for us. We decided to make due with what we had
and prep the car as best we could on our limited budget. The desire
to race was our driving force, and we had no idea how long we could
run before that old engine blew up."
AMSOIL
dealer David Fernald offered Last Chance Racing one case of AMSOIL
20W-50 Racing Oil to try.
"We returned to the race track that next
week, not sure of what would happen next," said Lachance. "To
our surprise we finished that first race in third place. The next
week in second place and the third week we finished first."
"The rest of the season, we raced every
Friday and Saturday nights without any engine problems. Which to
me means that Last Chance Racing raced the equivalent of two seasons
just one oil change. We didn't change the oil all season! I am a
firm believer that the engine would have never finished the season
if we had not switched to AMSOIL
Series 2000 20W-50 Racing Oil."
