What kind of oil do I use?
The kind of oil you put in your car depends on your driving habits and usage.
Driving Habits / Usage
Oil Recommendation
Daily driver to and from work - have under 50,000 miles on it. Ideal for most people. Can run reliably up to 35,000 miles before oil change. Filter must be changed at 12,500 miles intervals. SDF or dual-filtration filter required.
0W30 Product: SSO
Daily driver to and from work - often hotrod and rev engine above 5,000 RPM; track and street racing.
20W50 Racing Oil Product: TRO
Daily driver to and from work - have over 50,000 miles on vehicle. If you've used other synthetic oils previously, you can use product TSO above. If switching from regular oil used at Quick-Lube places only, use product AMO.
10W40 Product: AMO

Police car, taxi or vehicle that idles a lot in traffic.
15W40 Product: AME
Before switching to any of AMSOIL's oil, an AMSOIL Engine Flush (product AEF) is recommended except for vehicles with very high mileage (i.e. 90,000 or above that have never used synthetic oil.)
