Nissan Sentra I heard about AMSOIL products, and although not the cheapest item, it was certainly worth a shot at extending the life of Old Red. I used the 10W40 since I was under the impression that it was needed for out here in the high extremes of the Dessert to be able to best lubricate my engine, and hopefully smooth it out for at least another years worth. I bought the oil, and two filters, although I didnt buy the engine flush or the transmission ATF fluid at that time since I had just had the engine flushed, and the tranny was in great shape. Well let me tell you this, after replacing Valvoline Oil with AMSOIL, I not only heard, but felt the engine smooth out, no more wearing sounds, no more loss of engine power when going uphill, and after another quick tune up on top of that, we started using this car, (because of the gas mileage) for trips down the hill into L.A. and San Bernardino, and even using Old Red to run back and forth to visit the kids in Lake Havasu, AZ, and a trip or two to Vegas and Laughlin. I changed the filter one time after 7 months, the oil was clear as a bell, and thats with all the dust and sand storms we get that will pit the windows on most cars out here in a couple of years. In all, I put another 21,000 miles on Old Red, and sold it to an Old Neighbor who still has it as far as I know, and I hadnt changed to oil in it yet. The friend moved to Briar, Washington, but the last time I spoke to him, he still had Old Red, and still hadnt done anything but change plugs every once in awhile, and replace the filter, and top it off with AMSOIL. What can you say about a product that works this well? I dont think you can, you either have to believe that we were like you, and figured we had nothing but our money to lose, and a good oil change, or that it Works. It Does! Sincerely, Rickey L. Chevrolet Camaro Z28 When the engine had accumulated over 29,300 miles, Clanton installed AMSOIL Synthetic 10W-40 Motor Oil and AMSOIL Super Duty Full-Flow and By-Pass Filters. The engine now has almost 170,000 miles, said Clanton, and the same oil has almost 70,000 miles over five years. Clanton is very happy with the way AMSOIL Synthetic Lubricants have protected his Camaro. My toy is fully lubricated with AMSOIL products, said Clanton of his Camaro, including oil and air filters. My only regret is that I didnt pay attention the first time AMSOIL was introduced to me. When I think of the thousands of dollars and the hundreds of hours I wasted replacing parts I could have left in if I had been using AMSOIL, I feel foolish. I thought children never listened, but Ive found adults are worse when exposed to new ideas and information. Its so refreshing to find a company with such integrity. AMSOIL is an example for all. All AMSOIL Synthetic Motor Oils dramatically outperform conventional petroleum motor oils. They reduce friction, heat and wear for maximum power, performance and fuel efficiency. Resistant to high temperature burn-off, chemical breakdown and sludging -- keeps engines cleaner. Provide low temperature fluidity for fast, dependable winter starts and immediate start-up protection. Exceed the most demanding world-wide performance standards and meet warranty requirements for all domestic and imported passenger car engines, both turbo-charged and non-turbo-charged. Up to 25,000-mile or 1-year drain intervals.
I recently bought a used Mazda Protege as a second hand car. The car had 36,100 miles and came with an automatic transmission. I've been noticing that the transmission tends to shift rough between 1st and 2nd gear when the engine runs under 2,000 RPM. I took the car to a Penzoil Quick-Lube place and asked them about putting AMSOIL fluid in the transmission. The mechanic who worked there replied, "In my 28 years of being in the oil business, I've never even heard of AMSOIL." So I said, "Well what if I order the oil and come back and use your machine to put in it?" He showed me the machine and how it worked. It drained all of the other fluid out while at the same time it put the new fluid in by connecting it directly in between the transmission line. The transmission was shifting hard and I didn't want anymore damage. I was too anxious to wait, so I paid $63 to have it done right there and then. He put in Dexron III, which he insisted was the best stuff out there and that everybody uses it. Well, that was $63 I threw away. After replacing all of the old fluid with the new fluid, the hard shifting didn't go away. So I totally wasted my money at the Penzoil Quick-Lube. The following week, I picked up several bottles of the AMSOIL Automatic transmission fluid. I drained out the brand new, clean Dexron III that I put in a week prior from the Penzoil shop and replaced it with with the AMSOIL ATF fluid. This was my first experience with any of the AMSOIL's products other than the motor oil I used. I had no idea that the transmission fluid would be that big of a deal, but it was. I drove the car all around town at high and low speeds and the transmission shifted flawlessly, just as if the transmission had been rebuilt. If this didn't fix it, my next attempt would have to be to pay $1500 or so to some transmission shop to rebuild the transmission. That would be the last thing I would ever want to do. "I am only upset that AMSOIL has been around all of these years and nobody bothered to tell me about them. I always maintain my cars extremly well because I do not have the time or money to do repairs. So it's easier just to maintain them above and beyond what the manufacturers recommend. I'd rather keep a good car running like new past 300,000 miles than keep shelling out $25,000 for a new car every few years.", said Riley. 2001 Camaro Z28 Oil and Filter Recommendations 1992
Chevrolet S-10 Pick Up Redmon bought his 1992 Chevrolet S-10 in 1994. At the time, the odometer read 40,000 miles. The day I bought it, Redmon says, I took it in and had the oil changed to 10W-30 AMSOIL, but only after I had the engine flushed with AMSOIL engine flush. Redmon is a courier by trade, and his truck is his service vehicle. His business demands a lot of driving and his truck is used in all types of traffic. As of February 2001, Redmons engine and truck have over 320,000 miles on them. Even my mechanic and insurance company are surprised that the engine has not been rebuilt once since I have been the owner, Redmon said. Redmons mechanic said that he sees no reason to rebuild the engine any time in the near future either. Even with this mileage I still feel safe enough to take this truck on a coast to coast trip without worry, said Redmon. I thought you might want to know that I attribute the longevity of this truck to your products. 1992
