Here's the new trans-axle cover made by Mac (bought this on Ebay!) In addition to having its own fill plug, it also has a drain plug at the bottom of it making it easier to change the fluid every 7,500 miles. Notice the two small studs with the nuts. This is additional support for the carrier that doesn't come on the factory trans-axle cover. It doesn't hurt to have a little extra support. We were working until late in the night putting this in. That yellow thing hanging in the right of the picture is a florescent light so we could see in the dark. Without having this cover, everytime you drain the oil you have to open the cover each time or suck it out from the top of the axle which is a big pain. It's much easier just using the small drain plug that comes on it. A lot of people who own F-body cars never bother to change the oil in this thing. You guys really should do it. Amsoil makes some of the best gear lube you could ever put in these things. You can drive real far without having to change it so often.
